Saturday morning group run & walk in a heavenly weather

Big joint group run. Ran with two buddies 33min/3.1M, but my left ankle and sciatica were bothering me, so I switched to walking while they continued running. I walked fairly long: 26min/1.4M. I was expecting they would come back and we run back together, but I never saw them again, so I ran back by myself, 35min/3.1M. After a couple of weeks of rainy weather, we finally got the blue sky and sunshine back.

Friday after-work spinning bike

I couldn’t sleep again from 2:30-5:30 AM this morning. After that, I slept a few hours only intermittently as our neighbor started doing something noisy outside. So I missed my workout again this morning. Friday is usually my rest day, but not for a week like this I haven’t exercised much.
Despite the short sleep, I was amazingly well during the day, because I had so much to do at work, focused and progressed.
I left a little early to go to the gym. It started raining again. I was planning to swim, but my brain/eys/head felt awfully dizzy, so I did a spinning instead to be safe. My upper arms were painfully sore for some reason. I haven’t done any weights or anything to use my upper arms lately, don’t know why. Holding the bike was so painful. I was overall tired, and the workout was poor quality. PER high.

Elliptical 7M

On Sunday night skin rash flared up again, and by Monday morning my body was very red and itchy and intolerable. So I went to an urgent care yesterday morning , received a blood test, and got a prescription medication. I worked from home for the rest of the day. I didn’t have time to go to the Pilates class again. I was too itchy and the medication gave me dizziness and headache. And despite a couple of hours loss plus all that dizziness and headache, I worked for 12+ hours until late at night.

The symptom didn’t improve immediately, and I had another poor-quality-sleep last night, waking up frequently itching and scratching. My fitness activities/levels are so poor this month. Even before skin rash flared up, I hadn’t slept much for the past 3 weeks. My work project for the customer in the other side of the world has been in the critical stage, and I’ve been waken up by their calls after midnight. Perpetual insomnia and long work hours are destroying my routine lifestyle and completely messing up my fitness plan, overall physical condition, and mentality too. I don’t want to be controlled and defeated; I want to get control back in my hands.

Nevertheless, my left ankle is still bothering me ever since that trail run I did a month ago. My left hip to leg to foot are still painful/numb affected by sciatic nerve. Sometimes I feel like perhaps it’s a good break from exercising. Some other times I think that perhaps no exercise is making the sciatic pain worse. Who knows.

Elliptical is really good for me. I feel my imbalance very well. Every left step gives left hip spasm and left quads effort and tight left hamstring and numbing left foot. My right side is happy. My left ear has been buzzing and echoing again, ever since all these left body sciatic problems flared up in early December. My left brain and eye feel dizzy and my left neck feel stiff and tight. What’s wrong with the left side of my body. Is this all nerve?

Spinning bike

Today I brought my earphones, so I was able to listen to the instructions on the spinning bike. I absolutely loved it. I was able to adjust the bike, and the entire ride I followed the video training instructions.
Even cycling, I felt pain on my left hip and greater resistance on my left upper leg. My left leg required so much effort to pedal and my left outside hip felt pain every movement. It’s not a simple muscle imbalance anyone could have; this is obviously piriformis and nerve problem.

Saturday morning elliptical

I went to Y, intending to take a Body Combat class I missed its launch last Saturday. It turned out last Saturday was just a launch, and the class was not Saturday. Disappointed but I decided to do machine exercises instead.

It was very difficult to move my left leg every step on elliptical. Pain, spasm on my left hip, great resistance to raise my quads and hamstrings, so difficult. This is the imbalance I can feel very well on elliptical. I don’t feel it when I run, which probably aggravates more.

Wed night treadmill

It’s been rainy & stormy since last weekend. But it’s not the weather that’s been keeping me away from exercising. It’s my work. I’ve been working crazy hours lately, 16+ hours a day, or night or after midnight. I had light headache this evening, but I forced myself to go to the gym. I felt like almost falling asleep on treadmill. I couldn’t run very well. Even though very slow, it was not easy. Mentally drained and sleepy.
