Monday morning treadmill

Is treadmill really easier than road running? To me it always makes me feel harder. The gym is warm and there is no cool air or breeze like outdoors, and I hate warm-weather running, so uncomfortable. And the constant speed of treadmill forces me to move at constant speed with a constant cadence and constant strides, makes me feel like a hamster. Outdoors I increase the cadence on uphill, slow down when I get side stitches, and speed up on downhill. I just wanted a variety and went to the gym, but I guess I don’t like treadmill.
